In the reality of working on the internet, many people start a home business for many different reasons. Some for financial, others to gain the freedom and for a small percentage, they simply join to occupy their spare time.
Joining a business on the internet can be a task in itself, finding the right business to partner with, for what reasons, interests or is it something a person decides to do in the spur of the moment?
Whatever the reasons, the absolute wrong reason to join a business is to make money fast.
I can understand the need to help pay the mortgage, the rent, car payments etc… but if you need money FAST, you could make a decision based on impulse rather than research or facts. You want to save the agony of saying “What if”, what if I didn’t have to spend that money, what if I joined this one instead etc…
Freedom and money are very possible on the internet, riches can happen or even enough to make any average person feel comfortable but one thing is for sure, try to keep emotions out of the decision you make and try to keep it based on just the facts.
List of a few primary Human Emotions:
Joy
Love
Anger
Sadness
Fear
These have all been experienced by everyone at some point in their lives. Each of these result in different decisions we are able to make and if controlled can give a lot of pleasure, satisfaction and relief in our day to day living.
Some people join a business or company in FEAR, a response to some danger that’s about to happen…such as, the price is going up or the spot will not be there when you return. This emotion can leave people with anxiety, uneasiness, worry and can often steer you into making a premature decision you may not have made if you just had some time to think about it.
ANGER is evoked from some sort of conflict, humiliation or betrayal and is often a sudden impulsive decision. When this emotion is present…it’s the worst of all because your mind is clouded with fury, bitterness, even hate.
Emotions of anger could go so far to include jealousy, that you want to have what the other person has so bad that you’ll do anything! Even if it means spending $3,000 to be in the same company and falling flat on your nose when you realize you just don’t have the same skills to get to where you want to be.
JOY or happiness can lead to excitement, exhilaration or thrill…such as watching an infomercial and making a rash decision. There’s often no thought process, just quick decisions.
As for LOVE, this arises from a feeling of profound oneness. Can be platonic, romantic or familial…you may be joining out of pressure or guilt towards a family member and as you can guess, not the reason to be joining a business.
SADNESS is a tricky one, first you need to know what triggered the sadness and if it’s something that’s weighing you down or related to a feeling of loss and disadvantage. In order to make yourself feel better you think a quick fix is the answer, but often times after making the decision gives even more sadness and misery, gloom or depression sets in. Not exactly the best frame of mind to be in when trying to establish and create a new business for yourself.
What does this tell you?
If you don’t understand YOURSELF, where you came from, where you want to go in life…how do you expect to be able to help others see where they want to go?
You want to grasp hold of today, change the outcome for tomorrow and ensure it doesn’t have the same result as yesterday. Start by gaining knowledge, something you didn’t know the day before and go from there.
Invest in yourself, you can never go wrong. Move together as a team, not as an individual.
Find a business that doesn’t solve the “RIGHT NOW”, it must have a track record for normal, average people without the hype and run-a-round. Most importantly, find a mentor that can teach you, show you the way and give you the tools to make it all happen for you.
